Description:
To maintain facilities, lighting and electrical equipment in such a manner that no disruption occurs to the instructional program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Graduate or General Equivalency Diploma
Valid Texas Driver's License
Journeyman Electrical license or ability to acquire one within 6 months
Special Knowledge/Skills:
5 years' experience as an Electrician
Ability to work with tools and a basic understanding of building maintenance
Experience:
5 years' experience as an Electrician

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Installs, maintain and repair electrical equipment and wiring systems.
Installs, maintain and repair lighting and emergency lighting systems.
Maintain and repair bleacher operators and controllers.
Maintain and repair overhead door operators and controllers.
Maintain and repairs scoreboards.
Maintain and repair appliances.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
Utilize maintenance management system to receive and complete work orders. Accurately record labor and materials costs in accordance with Department Policy and goals. (Time on Task, days to complete) Maintain inventory of parts and tools assigned utilizing the inventory module of the maintenance management system. Fill out District forms and maintains electronic time keeping records in compliance with District and Department policy.
Assist other maintenance personnel as needed and directed by Supervisor.
Performs other duties as the superintendent or designee may assign.

Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times.
Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others.
Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.
Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals. Hand tools, electrical tools, operates light truck, bucket truck, pneumatic lift, utilize safety equipment and clothing as required by District
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; Continual walking and standing, climbing, stooping, bending and reaching
Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying.
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects and vehicles. Work on ladders and scaffolding. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, odors and slippery or uneven walking surfaces. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress
Salary: Pay Grade OS07, $24.52 - $29.06 hourly rate commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule. Days: 261 Start Date: 2025-04-07 00:00:00.000
