Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of our refining assets. In this role, you will drive equipment reliability strategy, lead root-cause investigations, optimize maintenance practices, and support long-term asset integrity programs.

Job Description

  • Implement equipment reliability programs for rotating, fixed, and electrical/instrumentation assets.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other reliability-focused investigations.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, chronic issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support turnaround and outage planning with reliability input and risk-based prioritization.
  • Define asset strategies using RBM, RCM, and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, and Process Engineering to improve equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance tasks (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, etc.).
  • Champion reliability work processes and promote a culture focused on asset health and continuous improvement.
  • Support capital project teams in equipment selection, specification reviews, and reliability risk assessment.
Skills Required
  • 5-10+ years of refinery or petrochemical reliability engineering experience (required).
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, fixed equipment integrity, and/or instrumentation systems.
  • Proficiency with reliability tools (RCA, RCM, Weibull analysis, FMEA, CMMS systems).
  • Experience with API/ASME standards and refinery process equipment design.
  • Demonstrated ability to use predictive maintenance technologies and interpret condition monitoring data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly.
Education/Training/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or CMRP/CRE certification preferred.
Pay Rate/Salary
  • Base Compensation: $180k/yr - $185k/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.)
